Create puzzle from your own image!

A few years ago the idea came to my mind — “it would be great to be able to make puzzles on the computer from any picture!” No, not just those puzzles that are in the catalog of the game (there are a lot of such games), but to take any JPG file from your computer: a photo of your favorite cat, downloaded wallpaper from Google / Yandex or whatever, and that the game will make a puzzle out of this picture.

Of course I did not pretend that the idea is unique (I just wanted to), but it turned out that at that time there are no such games. At least I could not find. And looking through the virtual puzzles from different companies, I realized that the interface they have far from ideal. And most importantly, they do not even try to recreate the atmosphere of a puzzle in real life.

So Lovely Puzzle was born, a browser-based game that creates the most home and cozy atmosphere and allows you to download any picture from your computer to turn it into a puzzle to assemble. By the way, there is also a catalog of puzzles in the game, so that you can play as you want. And saving in the cache of the last game allows you to continue building even after quitting the game and closing the browser.

By the way, the idea belongs to my wife, who was dedicated to the game as a gift. The design and engineering was done by me, and the software part did genius Yura Komarov. The only drawback, we adapted the game for mobile, but primarily for tablets in a horizontal position. For vertical smartphone screens the game is not very comfortable, but in my opinion it is difficult to really get pleasure from the puzzle on such a mobile screen. Better, of course, to play on a laptop, HD or 4K screen desktop or tablet. Although the idea to turn the browser game into a mobile one, and still adapt it for smartphones, too, has been around for a few years. Who knows, maybe in the future I will do it.
